January 28th, 2013

Hey Fam, The work here in Magrath has really picked up this week, the past two weeks we had two new investigators, they're both a part of member families but one is an inactive part member family. The inactive family is pretty solid though, the wife is the non-member and we invited her to give us a prayer on the first lesson and she gave a powerful one. She's leaving for Mexico in about two weeks so we're just trying to get as many appointments with her as we can before she leaves. We also invited her to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. The other family is a little less active but the father's open about us but I'm not sure how interested he is, but we invited him to read and pray about the Book of Mormon too and he accepted. The other day we also had a really spiritual experience. There was a less active boy who wants to serve a mission and he knows he needs to get his act together so we had a spiritual prompting to go to his house. So we visited him and he was going through some personal problems so he asked us if we could give him a blessing. We called a man named Shane Zobel who was our old ward mission leader to say the blessing and we told him afterwards that we are all there for him. But yea those are the highlights of my week this week and so is Chris going to FHE tonight? Tell him that Jason and Ben will pick him up. Do you think you can send me his home E-mail as well cause I think his mission one shuts down after a while. But yea I look forward to hearing from you guys next week and keep the pics coming, I really like them! Love you guys! Elder Gagnon

A sunset they wake up to every morning
A windy day in Magrath!
A member's gun collection
Hey Fam, This week was awesome, we got lots of teaching done which is unusual in Magrath, even more wierd is that we picked up a new investigator! Brother Weatheralt who is a father of a family of members and his youngest daughter just got baptized. This week we also had dinners planned all week which are usually perfect opportunities to pick up some referrals. I guess that's why we're starting to teach more cause we're working through the members pretty good. Some people are funny with the gospel cause when we bring up eternal families they usually say "well I already believe that I'll be with my family forever" and I just think well what church taught you that. This week we also met a member family that has a less active son that we're seeing pretty often. We're also still meeting with Robbie too. We went to Del Bonita for a sacrament meeting and this town is freaky cause there are like 14 people who live out there and 20 years ago there used to be 200 people living out there, so now the town looks like a creepy ghost town. There's just so many abandoned buildings, like the Del Bonita high school and the corner stores just say closed everywhere. I never thought I would ever see a town that would actually scare me, what's even more scary is that there's nothing but older people living out there so sooner or later the population will just hit 0 cause there are no kids out there either. But we have one investigator out there though and I love him and he's funny. Next time I go out there I'll take some pictures that will freak you out. Del Bonita is part of our area but the only problem is that it's 50 km away so it kills our kliks when we go out there. I loved Chris's email though, he grew tons on his mission from the looks of it and I love him for that. But yea my favorite scripture at the moment is my favorite missionary scripture which is all of section 4 of D&C, if you can't get the whole scripture on there just put sections 1,2,4,5,7 or 4,5,6,7 that section is just one of my favorites and I think it would look great on my plaque. Well that's it for this week! Love Elder Justin Gagnon

January 14th, 2013

Hey Mom, This week and the past New Years have been great, we stayed at the Lambs though because we had to be in at 6:00 PM, but they had some family over and we played a couple games of rook which is a fun card game. We also went to go visit the Roberts family this week because we had a ward correlation. Bro Robert's wife is the first lady I've met that has a french accent. She's from Quebec city and apparently they visit often so next time I'll tell you their facebooks and you can keep in contact with them. We also started teaching a new family we found a while back called the Whites and we taught the first two lessons with them. We also have two other part member families that we're teaching: The Millwoods and the Andersons. We haven't been able to meet with the Millwoods yet but we've been to see the Anderson's a couple of times. The Anderson's are a sweet family. This week we challenged the father to read and pray about the Book Of Mormon. Well I think that's all for this week, but work here in Magrath is very slow, but I'm still trying to find ways to make it faster! Thanks for the pictures by the way, I really like them. Who are the two new elders? Did Elder Blank say bye to you guys before he left? Well I g2g and sorry for no pictures. Love Elder Gagnon

Yea our pdays got switched for some reason, but today is actually our p-day and it's going to be like this for a while. Unless something like that happens again. but yea, how's home? Are we still getting snow like crazy? Magrath is going great, we just got a ton of referrals this week which is pretty unreal in Magrath, but hey it gives us a bunch more people to teach! Our investigators J and K are still progressing and I think they're on the verge of baptism. I'm also almost finally done with the 12 week training program. We also got a bunch of less actives that we're still working with but a lot of the lessons we do set up with them, they usually end up bailing on us. :( But yea I'm doing great and I think I'm getting a little too much to eat so I'm definitely gaining weight! But yea, send some pics of Chris at the airport when he comes home in like 2 and a half weeks. I can't wait to see him when he comes back. He's probably going to get really cold so don't forget his jacket! Sorry for no pics this week, I'll probably have a bunch next week. I do have one pic that shows the price of gas here in Alberta. Pretty crazy, huh?! Love Elder Gagnon

Happy New Year! December 31st, 2012

Hi Family! This week we did a lot of visiting members because all our investigators were away for the holidays. We did end up visiting a lot of less active members though and we helped a lady set up her new Ipad she got for Christmas. My companion was doing that while I was working on building a relationship with her husband. But yea, thanks for the pics and sorry that there will be no pics this week because I forgot my camera, do you think maybe you could send me some more pics from home just to see how you guys are doing as well. Anyway, gotta go! Love you guys! Elder Justin Gagnon P.S. Happy New Year 2013 WOOW!!!!!

December 18th, 2012

Hey Family! My week has been great! We found a family that we're probably going to start teaching and we found two part member families, one of them really wants to get baptized so we will be having a baptism soon... hopefully. Yesterday night we also had two dinner appointments so I just skipped breakfast this morning. This week is also transfer week and we did a little prank on my comp. Me and the zone leaders called the AP's and told them to call me as district leader (as a joke), so they called me and my comp at 3 PM that same day and said I was district leader and my comp freaked! Then the morning of the next day we said it was a prank, but a couple hours later my comp got called as district leader and he was like "oh no!" cause he didn't want this calling. I just found out not to long ago that Kris Jensen lives like 45 mins away from where I am and I just met one of his best friends here in Magrath. But yea, can I have Andrews skype as well just so I can maybe skype on his phone and you can show me around a bit instead of just being in the living room please. I think my skype account is dunstin6 if it's not, just check on my phone. Andrew can find out what it is. I might be skyping in the morning around 11 AM your time, which is 9 AM my time. Oh and I also received some mail from Gage and Catherine, so tell them thank you and that I will be writing them back soon. Well I guess that's it for this week. Love you guys! Elder Gagnon
